(continued from previous page)

Samuel N. PRYOR was on the 1830 McNairy Co. census with his wife.  He was born circa 1790-1800 and his wife circa 1800-10.  He bought a town lot in Purdy, McNairy Co. in 1831 then sold it in 1833 [A:154-155,203].  He moved to Tippah Co., Mississippi where he was on 1840, 1850 and 1860 censuses.  He died there.  His wife was Delana / Delaney Street, daughter of Anthony Street of McNairy Co., Tennessee.

Seth PRYOR was mentioned in a deed made by Nancy L. McLaughlin, a heir (and daughter) of Philip Pryor, in which she mentioned one of the properties being a part of a 200 acre tract that Philip bought from Seth Pryor [E:560-561].  The deed between Philip and Seth may have been made in another county.  Seth Pryor was in Greene Co., Missouri on 1840 census, in Titus Co., Texas on 1850 census, and in Sebastian Co., Arkansas on 1860 census.  According to his descendant, Paula (Pryor) Hartsfield Hanson, Seth was a land surveyor.  Mrs. Hanson said that Seth died in Fayetteville, Arkansas in 1862.

NOTE by Nova:
Philip Pryor, Samuel N. Pryor, and Seth Pryor were sons of Matthew Pryor, the Rev. War veteran, of Marion Co., TN and his wife Mary Neely / Neeley.  Other children include William A. Pryor (wife Sarah Williams), Matthew Pryor Jr. (wives Henrietta Williams and Mary Williams), Green Hill Pryor (wife Obedience Holloway), John Henry Pryor (wife Harriet Williams), and Mary "Polly" Pryor (husband William / George William Boise).  Only Samuel and Seth were in McNairy Co. for a short time while Philip was there from 1835 until his death.
