NOTE:
The 1870 and 1880 censuses list Howard as born circa 1869 while the 1900 listed him as born Feb 1872 and the 1910 census has it as circa 1870. It was listed as 1871 on his son George's delayed birth certificate. I believe Howard to be born early 1870 for he was 7 months old on the 1870 census. Howard's death certificate showed his birth date as 14 Feb 1849 and that his age at the time of his death was 104 years 1 month 13 days. The informant was his daughter Myrtle who listed his name as Howard Bennett. He was survived by 7 sons and 5 daughters.
According to pension records of Abraham Hillsberry, Amanda Hillsberry's birth date was given as 13 Mar 1882. The year 1879 was listed on her death certificate (informant son George W. Arterberry) and also on her funeral program. She was survived by 7 sons and 5 daughters. Since there were at least 14 children with Mark being the 13th child per his birth certificate. The surviving children would be: (7 sons) George, Wylie, Ted, Bennie, J. D., Johnny, and Howard; (5 daughters) Belle, Mary, Myrtle, Caroline, and Viola. The first Caroline and Mark were deceased by then.
