Joseph was listed on the 1900 Chickasaw Nation, IT census as Jasper (obviously an error). After Joseph's death, Celia took her children, except for Dicie who was married, to IL to stay with relatives. They wanted to put Alden in a home so she sent him back to live with Dicie. Dicie was 18 years old when Joseph died. Dicie's daughter, Norma, told me in her letter that Joseph had brothers - Newt, Wiley and John.
The reason why Joseph was in IL is likely because he, like some of his brothers, worked on the railroad.
